Put your oxygen mask on first, before helping others. Because if you run out of oxygen and end up belly-up how are you going to help anyone? We’ve all half-heartedly watched the flight attendant go through the steps on how to do it as we scroll through our phones or get our ear buds in place.

But it also involves your business. No, I’m not talking some namby-pamby self care thing where you make sure you go to the spa or get massages. Sure those things are good. But, I’m talking about your life blood of the business. Your oxygen. Your customers. Let me explain… To take care of your ideal customers you can’t go rushing out to help everyone. You’ll run out of oxygen. You can’t be all things to all people. Everyone is not your ideal target audience. So you need to take care of yourself first. Figure out exactly who you can help and what problems you solve. There’s no need to go blasting out ads - if you haven’t the slightest idea who you help and how you can help them. I’m not talking knowing in general terms either. So read on. It's knowing with real data and the measurables of who your best clients are both based on profitability and culture fit. Knowing exactly what demographics or what industry they come from. Know these before you run out of oxygen.
